Project Manager -

 

Due to the continued expansion of my clients well-established defence engineering business they have a great opportunity for aProject Manager to join their growing team. The successful candidate will as PM have ownership for the delivery of various company projects and will lead multiple technical product development programs ensuring delivery to time, cost and specification/quality whilst managing risk.

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

· Possess a strong customer focus and a passion for providing the best customer service and the expert knowledge to identify opportunities for change and the ability to convey the need for change.

 

· Take ownership for the planning, execution, control and delivery of multiple projects

 

· Create and maintain project and programme plans, factoring in risks, actions, issues and dependencies

 

· Plan resources within agreed financial boundaries and assign tasks to project engineers accordingly

 

· Assist with the development of the project management and bid management processes working with the process leads

 

· Leading projects to a successful conclusion through focus on product development, production and delivery

 

About You

 

Essential requirements for this role:

 

· Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

 

· Professional project management accreditation e.g. PRINCE2 or similar.

 

· Demonstrates strong people management skills.

 

· Highly proficient IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS project.

 

· Able to influence others at all levels of the business.

 

· Strong presentation skills, confident speaker and professionally presented in order to communicate effectively with a diverse client group and produce succinct correspondence

 

· Some travel to other group offices or MoD sites in the UK may occasionally be required. Candidates must have an existing right to live and work in the UK.

 

· Candidates must have passed UK security clearance to Security Check level or be able to obtain this level. To gain SC clearance you will normally have had to have been a resident in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.

 

The following are preferred, but not essential:

 

· Significant project management experience, ideally in a Defence or similar organisation, with a proven track record of successful delivery of multiple projects

 

· Proficient in principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of projects from initiation through implementation.

 

· Good customer account management skills with the ability to identify new business opportunities.

 

· Must be a personable, pro-active professional, able to demonstrate full commitment to exceptional customer care and service in all activities.

 

· Pursues excellence in all aspects of business.
