Elite HR are delighted to be working on a fantastic opportunity for an Interim Welfare Officer based in Hindlip, Worcestershire. This role is being offered on a 6-month fixed term contract and they are looking to pay £26,865 - £31,725 dependant on experience.

 

Reporting onto the Occupational Health Manager you will be responsible for the co-ordination of the provision of welfare support across the business including external counselling, specialist trauma support, psychological support for specialist roles and education and awareness of stress and mental health issues. 

 

The ability to travel within Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire is essential.

 

To be successful in the role you will need to be able to demonstrate or possess the following, ideally having worked within the blue light sector:

  • Level 4 qualification in counselling skills recognised by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, or actively working towards that level.
  • Registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
  • Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, including the Equality Act, Medical Reports Act, Data Protection Act and Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Sound knowledge of psychological trauma pathways, post-traumatic stress disorder and the recovery process to be able to provide an effective triage service and arrange the most appropriate solutions for a wide variety of complex and serious mental health issues.
  • The proven ability to provide welfare support to individuals dealing with difficult emotional or traumatic workplace issues.
  • Experience of providing workplace Counselling services within a complex organisation with multiple sites and specialist requirements.
  • Providing advice to line managers and other stakeholders on welfare issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including sound listening and summarising.
  • The ability to help people identify options and solutions in a non-judgemental way.
  • The ability to prepare management reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to influence senior leaders, resolve conflict and deal with sensitive issues
  • Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office
